Position Summary

The Activities Aide assists with planning and leading engaging activities that promote socialization, creativity, physical movement, and overall resident well-being. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, patient, dependable, and enjoys building positive relationships with residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and facilitating daily activities and recreational programs for residents.

• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, and preferences.

• Organize activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, entertainment, social events, and holiday celebrations.

• Assist residents with participating in activities when needed.

• Help create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for residents.

• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage social interaction.

• Assist with decorating activity areas and preparing materials and supplies.

• Maintain activity areas and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized manner.

• Document resident participation and provide feedback to the Activities Director.

• Work collaboratively with nursing and other departments to support resident needs.

• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Previous experience working as an Activity Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is required.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Creative, energetic, and able to engage residents in a variety of activities.

• Patient, compassionate, and dependable.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Must be able to interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
