Current Opportunity in Topeka / Shipshewana

We are hiring a part-time caregiver to assist a client in the Topeka / Shipshewana area.

Shift: 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
Weekly Hours: Approximately 20–25 hours.

We are seeking someone who can provide consistent, dependable support and maintain a schedule that meets the client's needs.

Important requirement: Applicants must be comfortable working in a client's home where cats are present.

What You'll Do

As part of the Firefly Home Care team, you'll provide personalized assistance that helps clients feel comfortable, safe, and supported in their homes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Helping clients with personal care and everyday activities.

• Offering companionship and emotional encouragement.

• Preparing meals and assisting with light household tasks.

• Supporting clients' safety, dignity, comfort, and independence.

• Following individualized care plans and care instructions.

• Noticing and reporting changes in clients' conditions or care needs.

• Maintaining required documentation of care provided.

• Treating clients and their families with kindness, respect, and professionalism.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is compassionate, responsible, and committed to helping others live as independently as possible.

Requirements and preferred qualifications:

• A caring, patient, and dependable personality.

• A professional and respectful attitude.

• Reliable transportation.

• Ability to successfully complete required background screenings.

• Availability for the 8:30 AM–4:00 PM shift, approximately 20–25 hours per week.

• Willingness and comfort working in a home with cats.

• Ability to follow care plans and communicate clearly.

• A sincere interest in improving the lives of others.

Previous caregiving experience is a plus, but it is not required. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and demonstrate reliability, compassion, and a positive attitude. Training will be provided to help the right candidate get started.
