DON Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all nursing services to ensure the highest level of resident care and clinical excellence

• Provide direction, coaching, and support to nursing managers and staff while promoting professional growth and accountability

• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and clinical practices to maintain quality outcomes

• Coordinate with physicians, department heads, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care

• Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as CMS standards and other regulatory requirements

• Monitor clinical performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement initiatives that enhance quality and resident satisfaction

• Assist with staffing oversight, scheduling, departmental budgeting, and efficient allocation of clinical resources

• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and community partners while representing the organization professionally

Requirements:

• Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care experience

• Previous experience as a DON, ADON, Unit Manager, or other nursing leadership role

• Working knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey processes, and regulatory compliance
