Pay: $9.27 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Thursdays: 2:30pm to 10pm & Fridays: 3:30pm to 10pm
Additional Availability: May be asked to work Saturdays and Sundays.

Job Summary

Southwest Louisiana Independence Center (SLIC) is seeking a dependable and compassionate Direct Service Worker (DSW) to provide in-home and community-based support to an individual in the Moss Bluff area. The DSW will assist with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, household tasks, and community outings while promoting independence, safety, and quality of life.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care needs, including bathing and dressing

• Provide toileting assistance as needed

• Assist with meal preparation and cooking

• Perform light housekeeping and household tasks

• Provide shopping assistance

• Monitor the consumer's safety and well-being

• Safely transport the consumer to appointments and community activities

• Provide transportation assistance, including possible school pickup

• Encourage participation in recreational and community activities

• Provide companionship and support with daily activities

• Follow the consumer’s individualized service plan

• Complete required documentation accurately

Qualifications

• Must be dependable, responsible, and compassionate

• Must be comfortable assisting with personal care and activities of daily living

• Must be able to work independently and follow the consumer’s individualized service plan

• Must have a working phone

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for required transportation

• Must pass required background checks and meet all applicable state requirements

• Previous caregiving or direct-support experience is preferred but not required

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Must pass all required background checks and screenings.

• Must have a dependable, patient, and positive attitude.

• Must be available to work the scheduled shifts, with potential weekend availability.
