Registered Nurse Private Duty

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Private Duty Nurse to provide personalized care for patients in the home and hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with experience in critical care and hospital settings. This role requires a dedicated professional who can deliver high-quality medical care while fostering a supportive environment for patients and their families.

Duties

• Provide one-on-one private duty nursing care to an assigned patient, focusing on their individual medical, personal, and daily care needs.

• Collaborate with primary nurse to assess, monitor and report changes in the patient’s condition and response to treatment.

• Provide skilled nursing care, including but not limited to, tracheostomy, ostomy care, suctioning, wound care, suture management, dressing changes, specimen collection, and management of IVs, catheters and drains.

• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, treatments, and patient care.

• Assist with ADLs, including feeding, personal care, ambulation, mobility, transfers, positioning, and skin breakdown prevention.

• Educate and support patients and families on medications, treatments, post-op care and discharge instructions.

• Accompany and assist patients with appointments, tests, scans, or procedures as needed.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment while following infection control, safety, and best-practice standards.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of practice.

• 2 years of Hospital experience.

• Knowledge of medical records management and documentation standards.

• Strong skills in medication administration and patient assessment.

• Ability to perform essential nursing skills such as wound care, suture management, and specimen collection processing.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

• Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple patient needs effectively.
