Recreation Leader Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Recreation Leader to lead engaging activities for residents in a skilled nursing setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced, patient, and able to work directly with individuals living with memory impairment, providing meaningful and supportive recreational experiences.

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour

Benefits: Full-time position with benefits

Recreation Leader Responsibilities

• Organize, prepare, and lead a variety of recreational activities for residents on a memory care unit.

• Provide one-on-one and small/large group interactions to encourage participation.

• Adapt activities to meet varying cognitive and physical needs.

• Offer calm guidance and redirection when needed in a respectful manner.

• Assist with transporting residents to and from activities, ensuring comfort and safety.

• Maintain activity supplies and prepare program areas.

• Complete light documentation and participation records.

• Collaborate with team members to support overall resident well-being.

• Foster a positive, structured, and engaging environment where residents feel valued.

Recreation Leader Requirements

• Experienced in recreation or activities in a healthcare setting.

• Experience working with individuals living with dementia required.

• Patient, dependable, and comfortable in a hands-on environment.

• Creative and enthusiastic with a passion for working with seniors.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
