COOK

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Cook to join our Assisted Living team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment. This role is vital to our residents’ health, comfort, and overall quality of life.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes

• Follow physician-ordered and therapeutic diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified)

• Ensure proper portion control, food presentation, and meal quality

• Maintain kitchen sanitation and cleanliness in compliance with health department regulations

• Store food properly and monitor inventory, rotation, and expiration dates

• Assist with meal service as needed

• Follow all food safety, infection control, and workplace safety guidelines

• Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and leadership to meet resident needs

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience preferred (healthcare, assisted living, or long-term care is a plus)

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special diet requirements

• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently

• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs

• ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
