Language Arts / Social Studies Teacher Middle School

Barkai Yeshivah is seeking a dynamic and passionate Middle School Language Arts / Social Studies Teacher to join our Middle School faculty. The Humanities program at Barkai integrates English Language Arts and History, encouraging students to explore meaningful questions and make connections between literature, historical events, and contemporary ideas. Through literature, historical inquiry, discussion, and writing, students develop strong reading comprehension, critical thinking, and clear written expression.

The Middle School Language Arts / Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction that deepens students’ understanding of both literature and history. The teacher will design and implement thoughtful lesson plans, guide students in close reading and historical analysis, facilitate rich classroom discussions, and support students in developing strong analytical and expository writing skills. This role also includes differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and assessing student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.

The Language Arts / Social Studies Teacher will collaborate closely with colleagues across disciplines, including Judaic Studies and Hebrew language instructors, to ensure a cohesive and meaningful educational experience for students. The teacher will foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respectful dialogue, and intellectual engagement while supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of middle school students.
