Position: Director of Social Services
Location: Merritt Island, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Salary: $65,000–$85,000 per year

Space Coast Healthcare & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Social Services to lead our social services department and advocate for the well-being of our residents and their families. This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic, resident-focused professional with strong leadership skills, clinical insight, and regulatory knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies in compliance with federal and state regulations

• Lead, mentor, and support the Social Services team

• Advocate for resident rights and foster a culture of dignity, compassion, and respect

• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings

• Coordinate and oversee discharge planning for smooth resident transitions

• Monitor and improve the quality of social services to enhance resident outcomes

• Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance

• Prepare and present Quality Assurance (QA) reports

• Serve as the facility’s Grievance Officer, addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) or related human services field (preferred)

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting

• Strong knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
