Job Summary

North Canton Nursing & Rehab is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Tech Level 1 to join our facility operations team. In this entry-level role, you will play a key part in maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general, routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the facility, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and hardware upkeep.

• Conduct daily inspections of common areas, resident rooms, and grounds to identify and address minor repair needs or safety hazards.

• Assist with painting, drywall patching, moving furniture, and setting up spaces for facility events.

• Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas, shop rooms, and storage spaces.

• Respond promptly to routine maintenance work orders and work requests submitted by staff and residents.

• Report larger machinery, HVAC, or facility-wide issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.

• Assist with basic exterior maintenance, seasonal groundskeeping, and safety protocols as directed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience: 0–1 years of general maintenance, basic handyman, or facility operations experience.

• Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and simple power tools.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders throughout the shift.

• Schedule: Ability to work standard daily shifts with flexibility for weekend, evening, or emergency coverage as needed.
