Love Working with Kids? We Have a Job for You!

At Akoya Behavioral Health, we're looking for caring, dependable people to join our team as Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).

As a BT/RBT, you'll work one-on-one with children with autism, helping them learn new skills, build confidence, and become more independent.

Some days you'll celebrate big milestones. Other days, you'll be working through challenges together. Either way, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in a child's day.

Already an RBT? Great! No ABA experience? That's okay, too. We provide training, certification support, and ongoing guidance from our clinical team.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

This is a hands-on role, and no two days look exactly the same. You'll spend your time working directly with children in their homes or at one of our centers.

As a Behavior Technician, you'll work directly with children to bring the treatment plans developed by your BCBA to life. Every day looks a little different, but your goal is always the same: helping children learn, grow, and build meaningful skills.

Here's what that might look like:

  • Learning through play: Playing games, reading books, and engaging in fun activities that build communication and social skills.

  • Building everyday skills: Helping children learn to ask for help, follow routines, and become more independent.

  • Supporting challenging moments: Providing patience, encouragement, and guidance as children learn to navigate difficult situations.

  • Tracking progress: Documenting sessions and sharing updates with your BCBA to help guide each child's treatment.

  • Celebrating the little wins: Recognizing every step forward, whether it's learning a new word, mastering a skill, or reaching a big milestone.

It's an active job that requires patience, flexibility, and a willingness to learn. But it's also a job where you get to see the impact of your work firsthand.

Why Work at Akoya?

We know that working with children can be both rewarding and challenging. We want our team members to have the training, support, and opportunities they need to feel confident in their roles.

Here's what we offer:

  • Competitive Pay: $18–$23/hour, based on experience and qualifications

  • Full-Time & Part-Time Positions: Opportunities starting at 15 hours per week

  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance: Available to eligible full-time employees

  • Paid Time Off: Available to eligible employees

  • Mileage Reimbursement: For eligible travel between client sessions

  • Clinical Support: Ongoing guidance and feedback from experienced BCBAs

  • Career Growth: Opportunities to become a Lead RBT or pursue a career as a BCBA

Opportunities to Grow

Whether you're looking for a part-time position or hoping to build a long-term career in ABA, there are opportunities to grow at Akoya.

If you're new to the field, we'll help you learn the basics and work toward becoming an RBT.

If you're already certified, you can continue developing your clinical skills, explore leadership opportunities, or gain experience as you work toward becoming a BCBA.

We want our team members to continue learning and growing throughout their time with us.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Enjoy working with children

  • Are patient, dependable, and willing to learn

  • Can stay calm and flexible when things don't go as planned

  • Are comfortable being active throughout the day

  • Communicate well and are open to feedback

  • Can maintain a consistent schedule and reliable attendance

  • Enjoy working independently while also being part of a team

What You'll Need:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to pass required background checks

  • Must have the physical stamina and mobility to actively engage with children, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 45 pounds, and effective visual and auditory communication.

  • Willingness to complete required training

Experience in ABA, childcare, education, psychology, or a related field is helpful, but not required.
