Dietary Cook-Double Weekends

Objective
Performs a variety of tasks that do not require advanced cooking skills, supporting the preparation, service, and cleanup of meals for residents, staff, and special events within the nursing center. This role requires availability to work weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Production

• Assist the cook as directed by the Food Service Director

• Prepare and label nourishments according to facility procedures

• Prepare and portion desserts, salads, and other non-entrée items

• Pour and distribute beverages as assigned

• Follow production sheets, pre-preparation sheets, and established guidelines

Service & Support

• Assist with meal service to residents and staff

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and workstations

• Support setup and cleanup for special events as needed

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to read and understand English for business purposes

• Basic knowledge of sanitation, organization, and safety practices

• Previous food service experience preferred

• Experience in a long-term care setting preferred
