Key Responsibilities

Meal Preparation & Service:

Prepare meals according to prescribed diets, physician recommendations, and established recipes.
Dietary Compliance:

Ensure meals comply with dietary restrictions, allergies, and patient preferences, communicating with the nursing team and dietitians.
Sanitation & Cleaning:

Wash dishes, clean equipment, maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area, and follow all safety and hygiene regulations.
Inventory & Stocking:

Monitor and take inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels for meal preparation.
Dining Area Management:

Set tables, serve food to residents, clear dining areas, and manage waste and recycling.
Communication:

Report patient concerns, such as low food intake, to supervising staff or dietitians.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of Dietary Needs: Understanding of therapeutic diets, special dietary needs, and nutrition.
Food Safety & Sanitation: Adherence to safety, hygiene, and food handling protocols.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, residents, and other staff.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in following recipes, dietary orders, and cleaning schedules.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays, and perform demanding kitchen tasks.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare and kitchen team.
Basic Computer Skills: For recording data and using dietary management systems.
