About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and organized individual to assist in the development and implementation of activities programs for our residents. As an Activities Assistant, you will work closely with the Activities Director to plan and coordinate activities, events, and outings that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in building relationships with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and implementing activities programs, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and other recreational activities

• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of activities programs, making recommendations for improvement

• Maintain accurate records and reports of activities and resident participation

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure activities align with resident care plans and goals

• Participate in resident assessment and care planning processes

• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Activities Director

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) preferred

• Previous experience in activities or recreation programming, either in a long-term care or community setting, is an asset

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
