Job Summary:
Heartwood Extended Health Care in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a Shower Aide (CNA) to provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment which promotes resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality while providing individualized attention and encouraging residents to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being and answering residents' call lights promptly and courteously. The  Shower Aide will be responsible for assisting patients with their daily showering needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a skilled nursing facility and in providing bathing assistance. The Shower Aide will work under the supervision of the nurse and will be responsible for ensuring that patients are comfortable and safe during their showering experience.

Essential Functions:

• Assist patients with showering and personal hygiene needs

• Ensure patient safety during showering

• Assist with patient transfers and mobility

• Document patient care and observations

• Communicate effectively with nurse and other healthcare team members

• Adhere to facility policies and procedures

• Prioritize teamwork and  professionalism during all interactions

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:

• Experience working in a skilled nursing facility

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to lift and transfer patients

• Basic computer skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors
