Experienced Caregiver Opportunity

Comfort Keepers is looking for a compassionate and dependable experienced In-Home Caregiver to provide personalized support to clients in the Elk River area.

This position is a great fit for someone who wants a consistent weekday schedule with flexibility to pick up additional hours. You'll provide hands-on, non-medical care that helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.

Certification is not required, but previous caregiving experience is required for this position.

Current Scheduling Needs

Weekday Coverage

·       HIGH PRIORITY — Monday: 1:00 PM–4:00 PM

·       HIGH PRIORITY — Wednesday: 1:00 PM–4:00 PM

·       No specific caregiver preference is required for this opening.

Every-Other-Weekend Coverage

·       HIGH PRIORITY — Every Other Saturday: 12:00 PM–6:00 PM

·       Scheduling note: The scheduling team is seeking an older female caregiver for this opening.

Immediate Weekend Coverage

·       HIGH PRIORITY — Saturday, September 5: 12:00 PM–6:00 PM

·       Male client with dementia; dogs are in the home.

·       This opening focuses on companionship, activities, personal care reminders, and light homemaking.

What You'll Do

As an In-Home Caregiver, you'll provide non-medical support tailored to each client's needs. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene

  • Providing bed-bound personal care

  • Assisting with mobility and transfers

  • Preparing meals and supporting nutrition

  • Providing medication reminders

  • Providing transportation and assistance with errands

  • Performing light housekeeping and organization

  • Providing companionship and end-of-life support

  • Supporting clients with dementia and memory-related needs

Our interactive caregiving approach encourages clients to participate in their daily routines whenever possible, helping promote dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life.


Qualifications

Previous caregiving experience is required. Certification is not required.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • At least 18 years old

  • Experienced as a Caregiver, CNA, HHA, PCA, RA, DSP, or similar role

  • Experienced with dementia care

  • Experienced with bed-bound personal care

  • Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers

  • Experienced with mechanical lifts, such as Hoyer or similar equipment, strongly preferred

  • Comfortable working in a home with pets

  • Compassionate, dependable, and responsible

  • Able to work independently and communicate effectively

  • Equipped with a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation

  • Able to provide availability within 8:00 AM–4:00 PM as needed

Education & Career Advancement

Eligible direct-care employees may have access to scholarship support through the Minnesota Department of Health HCBS Employee Scholarship Program.

Qualified team members may receive assistance with approved educational expenses while pursuing CNA, LPN, or RN training, supporting career advancement in home and community-based care.

To be eligible, employees must work in a direct-care role for an average of at least 10 hours per week and meet program requirements. Scholarship funding is limited and awarded based on eligibility, available funds, and approved educational expenses.
