Qualifications:

•          Culinary Training preferred.
•          Minimum of 1-year experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment.
•          Food handlers permit as required by state law.
•          Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs.
•          Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking, and service.

 

Responsibilities:

•          Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food in the community. Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented according to Ocean Meadow Senior Living standards.
•          Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere.
•          Work closely with the Director of Culinary Services and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
•          Ensure that all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
•          Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas clean, safe, and sanitary.
•          Responsible for the overall food quality and presentation of meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
•          In the absence of the Director of Culinary Services, oversee daily kitchen operations, helping maintain high standards for food preparation and service.
•          Assist Director of Culinary Services in menu planning and development based on resident likes and dislikes.
•          Document the temperatures of food before service, as well as refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
•          Prepare and ensure snacks and beverages are always available to residents.
•          Keep kitchen floors clean (sweeps and mops) and trash emptied.
•          Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
•          May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

 

Shift availability:

• Sunday     6 am to 6 pm
• Monday    8:30am to 6:30 pm
• Tuesday   8:30 am to 6:30pm

 

Pay: $18 - $20 per hour
