Housekeeping Aide

Job Summary

As a Housekeeping Aide, you will be responsible for providing a clean and sanitary environment for our staff and residents, and ensuring that all areas of the facility are maintained in a clean and organized manner. Responsibilities

• Provides a clean and sanitary environment for staff and residents by performing various housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Wet mopping resident rooms and bathrooms daily

  • Dusting in assigned work areas

  • Cleaning draperies and privacy curtains

  • Cleaning resident beds and closets per schedule

  • Sanitizing resident units using proper policies and procedures

  • Washing windows and mirrors per schedule

• Maintains fire aisles when using cleaning cart

• Reports promptly any indications of rodents and other pests

• Adheres to all facility and department safety policies and procedures

• Treats residents and staff with respect and dignity

• Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times

Supervision Received

Receives supervision from Housekeeping Supervisor.

Qualifications

• No convictions for abuse, neglect, or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property

• Prompt and regular attendance

• Ability to read, write, and make simple calculations and follow oral and written directions

• Knowledge of principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling housekeeping tasks and equipment

Physical Requirements

• The employee's job requires:

  • Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing

  • Frequently pushing and pulling carts and equipment

  • Frequently lifting up to 10 lbs

  • Rarely lifting over 10 lbs

  • Balancing and reaching above shoulder level

• The employee must be able to perform these duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

• The employee will be working in a healthcare setting, and will be exposed to various cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in the work schedule as needed.
