Occupational Therapist Assistant/OTA

We are seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Martin Coast. You will be working in a Skilled Nursing Facility working with patients that are recovering from injuries and disabilities. Job Duties will be working with an occupational therapist  to treat patients who have difficulty performing daily living and work activities due to illnesses, injuries, and disabilities. Working with clients to perform exercises as specified in a treatment plan and teaching them how to use equipment that may make some activities easier.

Occupational Therapist Assistant Requirements:

·      Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Licensed in the State of Florida as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.

·       Compliant with stting.ate Healthcare Regulatory requirements.

·      Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.

·      Ability to work well in a team setting.

·      Excellent interpersonal skills.  

Occupational Therapist Assistant Responsibilities:

• Treat patients by using therapeutic and self-care activities designed to improve function under the direction of the occupational therapist (OTR)

• Monitor a patient's activities to make sure they are performing them correctly and to offer encouragement

• Contribute to meetings and case conferences to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care plans for patients

• Document patient’s weekly progress in appropriate records

• Maintain the office treatment areas, equipment, and supply inventory

• Instruct patients, their families and any other caregivers in skills and techniques of the patient's treatment program, under supervision of the Occupational Therapist
