Know How to Fix It Right? We Want You on Our Team!

Are you an experienced Maintenance Director, Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Manager, or Building Maintenance Technician who takes pride in solving problems and doing quality work?

Are you the person others call when something breaks because they know you'll figure it out and fix it correctly?

Charter Senior Living of Gallatin is looking for a dependable, mechanically skilled, hands-on Maintenance / Environmental Services Director to help keep our community safe, comfortable, and operating at its best!

We're looking for someone who knows their craft, can identify problems before they become major issues, and understands the importance of completing repairs correctly rather than relying on temporary fixes.

Our community has an experienced, supportive team, a strong resident population, and leadership that works together to get things done.

If you're a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working with your hands, and making a meaningful difference, we'd love to meet you!

Why Gallatin Is a Great Opportunity

Experienced Team • Strong Occupancy • Supportive Leadership • Career Growth

Charter Senior Living of Gallatin is an established community with a dedicated team, including associates who have worked in the building for many years.

Our community consistently maintains high occupancy, and our team works together to keep apartments, common areas, and building systems in excellent condition.

As our Maintenance / Environmental Services Director, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work alongside a knowledgeable, experienced, and dependable team.

  • Take ownership of building maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of maintenance challenges.

  • Help maintain a well-established senior living community.

  • Support timely apartment turnovers and move-in readiness.

  • Work with friendly residents and associates who appreciate quality service.

  • Receive support from responsive community and regional leadership.

  • Develop your skills and explore opportunities for career advancement.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality repairs, and wants to work with a team that supports one another.

The Three Things We're Looking For

1. Strong Hands-On Maintenance & Troubleshooting Skills

You know how to identify maintenance problems, determine the appropriate repair, and complete work safely and correctly.

You have practical experience with building systems, preventative maintenance, and general repairs.

You take pride in finding lasting solutions—not simply patching a problem and moving on.

2. Dependability & Emergency Responsiveness

You understand that building maintenance doesn't always happen during regular business hours.

You must be willing and available to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies when needed.

Our residents depend on a safe and comfortable environment, and we need someone who takes that responsibility seriously.

3. Physical Ability & Attention to Detail

This is a hands-on position that requires physical maintenance work.

You must be able to:

  • Safely climb ladders and access elevated areas or loft spaces.

  • Lift, carry, and move objects weighing 50 pounds or more, as required for assigned duties.

  • Perform hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance.

  • Identify safety concerns and address them promptly.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

We need someone who can handle the physical demands of the job while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Building Maintenance & Repairs

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations throughout the community.

  • Perform hands-on repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance within your training and qualifications.

  • Troubleshoot building systems and equipment issues.

  • Identify maintenance concerns and complete appropriate corrective repairs.

  • Maintain resident apartments, common areas, and building grounds.

  • Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and correctly.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and associates.

  • Coordinate outside contractors or specialized repairs when needed.

  • Maintain building systems and equipment in safe, working condition.

Preventative Maintenance & Building Safety

  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Conduct routine inspections of building systems, equipment, and common areas.

  • Identify potential problems before they become major repairs.

  • Maintain accurate preventative maintenance logs and work-order documentation.

  • Support fire safety, emergency preparedness, and building safety procedures.

  • Address maintenance-related safety concerns promptly.

  • Follow applicable safety standards and company procedures.

  • Help ensure the community remains clean, functional, safe, and well-maintained.

Apartment Turnovers & Move-In Readiness

  • Coordinate and complete maintenance work needed to prepare apartments for new residents.

  • Perform inspections, repairs, painting, and other turnover-related maintenance tasks.

  • Work with community leadership to prioritize apartment readiness.

  • Help ensure apartments are prepared promptly and meet community standards.

  • Support efficient turnovers while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Team Leadership & Department Operations

  • Lead and support maintenance and environmental services associates.

  • Coordinate daily work assignments and maintenance priorities.

  • Work collaboratively with experienced team members.

  • Maintain organized maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.

  • Monitor maintenance supplies, equipment, and inventory.

  • Coordinate vendor services and outside repairs when necessary.

  • Communicate maintenance needs and project updates to community leadership.

  • Support housekeeping and environmental services operations as appropriate.

  • Maintain a professional, service-focused department culture.

Resident Service & Community Support

  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and associates.

  • Respond to maintenance concerns with professionalism and urgency.

  • Communicate clearly about repairs and expected timelines.

  • Support a comfortable, welcoming, and well-maintained living environment.

  • Assist with community transportation and vehicle maintenance as needed.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support daily community operations.

  • Participate in the community's emergency response procedures.

  • Practical knowledge of building maintenance and repair processes.

  • Ability and availability to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.

  • Ability to safely climb ladders and access elevated work areas or loft spaces.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds or more as required for essential job duties, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

  • Ability to identify maintenance issues and complete safe, quality repairs.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.

  • Dependability, professionalism, and strong communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.

  • Willingness to work collaboratively with community leadership and other departments.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred

  • Previous Maintenance Director, Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Manager, or Lead Maintenance Technician experience.

  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and preventative maintenance.

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.

  • Experience coordinating apartment turnovers or preparing units for occupancy.

  • Experience with work-order systems, maintenance logs, and vendor coordination.

Senior living experience is preferred, but experienced maintenance professionals from apartments, hotels, commercial properties, healthcare facilities, and other building maintenance environments are encouraged to apply.
