Bring the Energy. Create the Fun. Make Every Day Memorable!

Are you the person who brings people together, comes up with creative ideas, and knows how to turn those ideas into unforgettable experiences?

Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green is looking for our next Life Enrichment Director / Programming Director!

We're searching for someone who is fun, energetic, creative, highly organized, and genuinely passionate about enriching the lives of seniors.

This isn't a position where you'll simply fill an activities calendar.

We want someone who can bring fresh ideas to life, create excitement throughout the community, build meaningful relationships with residents, and make every day something residents look forward to.

You'll be joining an established senior living community with a strong history of high occupancy, exceptional resident satisfaction, and an experienced, supportive leadership team.

If you love seniors, enjoy bringing people together, and want the freedom to put your creativity and personality into your work, we'd love to meet you!

What Makes This Opportunity Special?

At Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green, we're proud of the community and culture we've built.

Our leadership team believes in teamwork, recognizes great work, and encourages department leaders to take ownership of their responsibilities.

As our Life Enrichment Director, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Bring your own creative ideas and personality into the resident experience.

  • Significantly impact the lives of our seniors.

  • Listen resident feedback and adjust our service plan.

  • Develop exciting new programs, events, celebrations, and community traditions.

  • Work alongside an established, supportive leadership team.

  • Collaborate with associates across all departments.

  • Make a direct and visible impact on resident satisfaction and quality of life.

  • Take ownership of a program that plays an important role in our community's continued success.

  • Grow professionally while doing work that makes a meaningful difference.

We want someone who doesn't just plan activities—we want someone who creates experiences.

The Three Things We're Looking For

1. Fun, Upbeat & Engaging

You bring positive energy into a room and know how to make people feel welcome, included, and excited to participate.

You enjoy interacting with residents, leading events, building relationships, and creating an atmosphere where people want to get involved.

2. Highly Organized & Dependable

Creativity is important, but execution matters at least as much.

You can manage calendars, coordinate vendors, plan events, organize supplies, communicate schedules, and follow through on commitments.

You don't just come up with great ideas. You make them happen.

3. Creative & Innovative

You enjoy thinking beyond traditional senior living activities.

You're constantly looking for new ways to engage residents, introduce exciting experiences, celebrate special occasions, and create meaningful community traditions.

You understand that the best programs are built around residents' interests, preferences, abilities, and life experiences.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Resident Engagement & Programming

  • Develop, coordinate, and lead engaging daily, weekly, and monthly Life Enrichment programs.

  • Create meaningful social, recreational, educational, cultural, spiritual, wellness, and creative experiences.

  • Plan and execute special events, celebrations, entertainment, outings, and community traditions.

  • Get to know residents individually and develop programs around their interests and preferences.

  • Encourage resident participation and help create a welcoming, supportive environment.

  • Introduce fresh ideas and continuously evaluate opportunities to improve resident engagement.

  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, families and our team.

  • Create opportunities for residents to connect, socialize, and remain active and involved.

Event Planning & Organization

  • Create and maintain organized, engaging monthly activity calendars.

  • Coordinate entertainers, speakers, vendors, volunteers, and community partners.

  • Manage event logistics, supplies, schedules, and programming budgets.

  • Communicate upcoming events and generate excitement throughout the community.

  • Maintain required program documentation and participation records.

  • Balance multiple projects, activities, and upcoming events while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Take ownership of the community's Life Enrichment program.

  • Work closely with the Executive Director and department leaders.

  • Collaborate across departments to create successful community-wide events and celebrations.

  • Encourage associates to participate in and support resident engagement initiatives.

  • Provide guidance and support to Life Enrichment associates and volunteers, as applicable.

  • Help maintain a positive, energetic, and team-oriented community culture.

  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to showcase the resident experience during tours and community events.

  • Support resident satisfaction, community reputation, and continued occupancy success.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • Experience planning, organizing, or leading activities, events, recreation programs, or resident engagement initiatives.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive, engaging approach.

  • Ability to independently plan and execute programs and events.

  • Strong follow-through, dependability, and attention to detail.

  • Genuine compassion for seniors and a commitment to meaningful resident experiences.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.

  • Availability to work Monday–Friday and participate in the Manager-on-Duty rotation.

  • Ability to meet applicable employment background-screening requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous assisted living, memory care, or senior living experience.

  • Previous Life Enrichment Director, Activities Director, Programming Director, Activities Coordinator, or Recreation Director experience.

  • Experience organizing large events, entertainment, outings, or community programs.

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.

Senior living experience is preferred, but we also welcome candidates with relevant programming, recreation, hospitality, or event-planning experience who have a genuine passion for working with seniors.

You'll Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Love bringing people together and creating excitement.

  • Have a fun, enthusiastic, and welcoming presence.

  • Enjoy getting to know residents and hearing their stories.

  • Are creative but also extremely organized.

  • Can plan an event from the initial idea through successful execution.

  • Take initiative without needing constant direction.

  • Know how to get other departments involved in special events.

  • Can manage multiple priorities without losing important details.

  • Enjoy working with an experienced, collaborative leadership team.

  • Take pride in delivering consistently excellent resident experiences.

  • Want to make a positive difference in someone's life every day.
