Floor Technician
Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center | Fairfax, VA

Pay: $16.00–$17.50 per hour based on experience

Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center is looking for a dependable and hardworking Floor Technician to join our team! The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-maintained floors throughout the community while also assisting with housekeeping and basic maintenance tasks as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Clean, maintain, and care for floors throughout the facility

• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, buff, and refinish floors as needed

• Operate floor care equipment safely and properly

• Maintain floors in resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, common areas, and other assigned spaces

• Follow proper cleaning, sanitation, and infection control procedures

• Use cleaning products and equipment according to manufacturer and facility guidelines

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Identify and report damaged flooring or other environmental concerns to management

• Assist the housekeeping department with cleaning duties when needed

• Assist with basic maintenance tasks as assigned

• Help with minor repairs and upkeep of the facility when appropriate

• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, or supplies as needed

• Maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff

• Follow all facility safety and infection prevention policies

• Work cooperatively with nursing, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous floor care, housekeeping, environmental services, maintenance, or related experience preferred

• Experience in a nursing home, healthcare, hotel, or commercial setting is a plus

• Knowledge of floor care equipment and cleaning procedures preferred

• Basic maintenance or repair experience is a plus

• Reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented

• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with residents and staff

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
