PART 1: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS

1. Responsible for dusting/polishing and arranging furniture or equipment.

2. Mop and polish floors.

3.Vacuum and shampoo carpets and draperies.

4. Scour and sanitize sinks, toilets, tubs and shower areas.

5. Polish plumbing fixtures.

6. Clean mirrors, light fixtures, doors, windows, and sills.

7. Wash and clean walls.

8. Complete room schedule.

9. Collect trash from the units and dispose in outside container.

10. May be called on for utility work in any area of the building.

11. May also do project work such as stripping and refinishing floors.

12. Handles and mixes cleaning chemicals safely and properly.

PART II: FACILITY-WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES & STANDARDS

1. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity & the ability to work

effectively with residents, family members, personnel & support agencies.

2. Is courteous with residents, co-workers and visitors.

3. Maintains resident & employee confidentiality. Demonstrates knowledge of HIPAA laws.

4. Demonstrates ability to work with others.

5. Demonstrates flexibility in assignment to fill facility’s needs.

6. Arrives for work on time as scheduled on a consistent basis. Uses time effectively.

7. Adheres to departmental dress codes.

8. Knows and understands policy and procedure on abuse.

9. Acts in professional manner at all times.

10. Knows responsibility & procedure in emergencies and demonstrates knowledge of

emergency codes.

11. Assume accountability for all data contained in the Employee Handbook.

12. Attend and participate in in-services, workshops, seminars, etc. as directed.

13. Wear protective clothing and equipment when handling infectious waste and/or

blood/body fluids.

14. Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures

when performing daily tasks.

PART III: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

1. Demonstrate ability to handle stressful situations.

2. Must be able to write & speak the English language in an understandable manner.

3. Must be able to see & hear or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function.

4. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

5. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, and move intermittently during working hours.

6. May be exposed to hazardous ingredients in chemicals used for cleaning,

7. May be exposed to infectious waste and diseases, conditions, etc.

8. Ability to relate and work with the physically and emotionally challenged resident.
